AR-assisted supervision of autonomous robots
Let me take you on a journey into the future—a journey to the year 2042. Specifically, to the operating rooms of 2042. Imagine a world where legal challenges surrounding artificial intelligence have been resolved. Picture seamless registration of patient and imaging data. Envision computers handling surgical planning and robots flawlessly executing it. In this future, autonomous surgical robots are an integral part of daily practice.
The best surgeon for certain applications may no longer be human but a robot. The future of medical augmented reality may lie in providing surgeons with meaningful visualizations to enhance human-robot collaboration. For this reason, this project has taken on the challenge of exploring AR-assisted supervision of autonomous orthopedic procedures of the future.
